The TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, will serve as home for AT&T Byron Nelson this year – the third separate course in the last four iterations. Craig Ranch reviews so far are promising, and a lot of PGA Tour professionals should like it because it is wide open and should be easy to score – until the wind blows. This would be a great place to see a little golf a week ago PGA Championship.

It has been quite a week in Texas, and as we enter the final-round action on Sunday, we are in store for some fireworks. Sam Burns, looking for his second win in three weeks, sits at the bottom of the 20 atop the leaderboard as he continues his hot run in May. Three shots earlier, however, is Jordan Spieth, who propelled himself closer to the top of the leaderboard with an eagle on 18 to cap his third round on Saturday. Everyone might be waiting for the Major on deck next week, but the golf on tap on Sunday will provide a great appetizer before heading to Kiawah Island.
Due to weather concerns, the field split will run tees and TV times have also been adjusted at 10am with the last group at Threesom starting at 8am ET on Sunday, and you can see those modifications below.

Second major The championship of the year is Has arrived, and despite the lack of some momentum at the top heading into this tournament, there are still some excellent storylines (as always) for the 2021 PGA Championship. There is a lot to look forward to this week as the PGA returns to the Ocean Course in Kiawah Island after a nine-year hiatus.
Rory McElroy has won just two more big wins since that romp in 2012 (if you have under 2.5, congratulations for beating it in any way), and he is once again the best player-in- Playing the-world golf. He won was his last start at the Wells Fargo Championship two weeks ago and has emerged as a somewhat surprising favorite to drive it back to Kiawa this week.
McIlroy is one of the few interesting player narratives in what should be a fantastic week. Kiawah is a curious course, and the gallery is beginning to grow in size. Oh yes, the Career Grand Slam is in line again this week, which may currently be the No. 1 player on the planet.
Let’s take a look at all those storylines and the like PGA Championship This weekend is underway.
- Spieth’s Slam: Since January 1, no one in the world has played better golf than Jordan Spieth. He has a PGA Tour win to show, but if you’re a stroke-achieving idiot (like me), you know someone else can come. There are only two golfers who are receiving more than 2.0 strokes on average this calendar year: Spieth at 2.2 and Daniel Berger at 2.1. Spieth comes in a good top 10 in AT&T Byron Nelson (where he did not perform well) and will score his fifth run in a career grand slam. Only five golfers have ever done it, and apart from 2017 when Spieth went to Quail Hallows afresh with their Open Championship victory at Royal Birkdale, this is the best chance to join them.
- Where are you, dj? Conversely, since January 1, Dustin Johnson – still the No. 1 player in the world – has had worse stroke-receiving numbers than Cameron Tringell, Chris Kirk, Charlie Hoffman and Abraham Ansar. They have not had a top 10 since the Genesis Invitational in February, missed the cut at the Masters and are coming on this week following a late withdrawal from last week’s AT&T Byron Nelson. Johnson is the most likely player in the field to flip a switch at the last minute and win a tournament of five, but beware of a game that has not been exactly the same for the past few months.
- Monster Gallery: Although the galleries have not returned to their normal strength in the golf tournament, it will be difficult to tell if you are looking at the last month. Keeping aside legitimate concerns for attendees, this is certainly a great thing for the events themselves as well as the stars involved. We didn’t talk a ton about it, but it’s no coincidence that Rory McElroy, who struggled in a fan-less world, had the loudest (and possibly the most) since the pandemic began in Wells Fargo two weeks ago. Participating) won the event. He and a few others will thrive in leather-up galleries in attendance at Kiawah.
- Embarrassment of Wealth: I have heard Jim Nantz talk about this on several occasions, and this is something I was thinking and writing about nine months ago as well. We are smacking in the midst of seven major championships in a span of 12 months, in which one has the potential to win career majors. No one has doubled yet – Colin Morikawa, Bryson Dechambue, Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama are your current winners in that 12-month stretch – but if one of them does at Kiawah, we are definitely on this two years. The golfer will remember K’s run in seven majors played.

Colin Morikawa has been crowned King of TPC Harding Park and has barely nine months to receive the PGA Championship crown.
He landed his first Major by beating Dustin Johnson and Paul Casey by two strokes, and that was despite starting two shots behind DJ on Sunday. But an excellent round of 64 – aided by some bold shot-making, including a drive within 7 feet of the par 4 sixteenth – lifted Young above unusually dull Johnson.
In the end, the 129 shots Morikawa took over the weekend equaled the PGA Championship record-low – the most deserving of a major win.
Where to play fantasy golf for the PGA Championship this week
The majors bring with them an excellent slate of competition quality and diversity, and so this is as good a week as any to explore ways in which we can get the most from our investment – or simply from Mill Maker Have some fun with, like.

Of course, there are also a lot of easy consolation prizes.

Last words about PGA Championship 2021
As with most die layouts, strategy will also come into play, and it will be necessary to get to the right side of these raised greens – a key part of the tee-to-green mastery puzzle. Some people in the area will have a very competitive experience on Paspalum, and note that these surfaces tend to move slower than average – which can catch a lot.
It’s also an open ventilated layout, so that’s another idea, and winning a major is pretty hard anyway – it’s as old as a story!
