Someone must have increased the heat Pull the race down Because the workroom Shadow was strong. Episode 4 has read in every queen, and we are starting to see a rivalry. Also, with the surprise return of a finished queen, the tea is becoming as strong as possible.
Now, design challenges are quite difficult in their own right, but garbage design challenges are a special kind of hassle. Especially when Art Simone jumps out of the dumpster to ruin Karen from the day of finance. Yes, Kala’s dot may not have been bad enough as RU and the judge are letting her go back to the competition. But can she survive more than one episode?
Trash can really be treasure
Scarlett Adams has continued her Maxi-Challenge winning streak, thanks to a literal picnic blanket-made outfit. Her picnic chic with grapes really stood out, and felt like an actual runway, challenge aside. Well-deserved win.
However a huge outcry for Maxi Shield, which took criticism of RU for showing itself more and adding some sex appeal seriously. His drag bag leak must have been a disaster, and yet he faced the challenge in more ways than one. Hopefully, Maxi will retain it as the season continues.
Dumpster diving failed
At the weak end, we saw some good ideas from the bottom three. Sadly they did not translate properly when it comes to the finished product. The ardor of the et cetera, et cetera, really had potential. But where the leak ended, there was some sort of disconnect, yet it felt like it was missing a little bit of pizza.
Meanwhile, Karen apparently from finance Really Snatch wanted to cash in on the game. Too bad she forgot which challenge she was taking part in, and threw herself into the bottom two. While she should have gone home for dubbing, we can forgive her (a little) for that beautiful lip sync.
to break House of drag
Sadly, Anita Viglit couldn’t spell Hot Glue, and while her lip sync performance was hot, it wasn’t as smoking as Karen from Finance. Sorry to all who expect House of drag Together Taj will take home.
We spoke with Anita about her time on the show, and where she feels that this week went wrong with her. You can read our full interview with this week’s Eliminated Queen below.
What dragged you in the first time?
While I was studying at university, I got a student job and I worked in theater in Auckland, just at the bar in Auckland. The first music we took with the musical version of Priscilla, queen of the desert, Australia’s iconic film, and the first time I saw Drag Queen on stage and was liked by the audience.
The joy, laughter they had was so contagious, so I decided to dress up in a drag dress for a theater Christmas party at the end of the year. I liked it so much that my 21st birthday was on the Priscilla theme. Then I contacted the local club and said that I would love to do the show if you wanted and that’s how it all happened. So I think I was inspired by music.
As a co-host of House of drag, do you feel like Pull the race down Will your show help or hurt you in the future?
I’m gonna help, because it’s Kita. Will give [Mean] And I am a big platform that will attract more people to see it. But also sad because House of drag Is like a cheap knockoff Drag race / big brother, Then it will make it even more ridiculous. Hope this helps because it is such a silly delightful little TV show.
We enjoy filming a lot. We’ll drink, you know, a small glass of champagne. Oh yes, we’ll have this joke of continuity. So we want, take a full glass that we drink during filming. Then we’ll probably have to do it again so we’ll go to “continuity” and refill our specs, and it just keeps fluctuating.
What makes you want to audition Pull the race down And what was your reaction when you were cast?
Because I do full-time drag now, I couldn’t audition for it drag race Because by doing this, it only puts you on a platform that is much larger than anything you can do yourself. So I auditioned, and then when I found out that I had started, it was real, and it’s still real that I did it.
It was just such a blur, but it was the most amazing, intense, incredible, moment of my life. And now hopefully, it’s becoming clear to me that next year, in two years, I get to enjoy the fruits of that kind of almost minimal labor, really.
Were you surprised to see Art Simone return to the competition?
I was! In this dumpster, pit crews were wheeling and dragging. Oh god, they are so strong if they could lose all that trash and Art Simone. But it was really amazing to see him coming back as much as I didn’t want him to be there because he is such a fierce competitor and an amazing drag queen. And I think at that stage, we were so relieved that we got rid of him.
On the other hand, it was very disturbing to see her go home because she wanted it so badly, and everyone thinks “rumor on the street if there is any RuPaul’s drag race down under, So Art Simone would win the first season. “And so, when she went home early, that kind of pressure and hope took over. Although it was really cool that they got another chance to do well.
This week the tension in the workroom was high. What was happening with all the extra shadowy reading among the queens?
At this point, we all have known each other for some time. Initially we were all very good with each other. I think people started realizing that this is a competition, tensions are going on a lot, etc.
It is also, I think, the challenge of making a dress is always a lot of stress because everything goes wrong, and it does not fit, and simply does not work, the needle of sewing machines breaks, this Kind of things. I think there were some elements, and it only added a few contestants.
You made it clear from the beginning that you are not a sewer. Did you see yourself automatically ending in the bottom two?
It’s funny, when I went to the show, I was watching the previous season. So I believed that there would be a sewing challenge, and a dazzling challenge, and those were the two challenges I was most concerned about. But I am not really a dancer and I have performed really well.
But then I thought, “I know how to sew. I am not the best by any stretch of the imagination, I can put together like a poncho or a simple dress. “I was really excited for it, because I was excited to come up with a concept, and I knew that I would be asked to do something together. When I found out the challenge, a part of me was really excited to get it.
RU called your garbagecut non-original, and said it had been improved. Did you know that you were lewk before when you designed it?
In fact, which no one would ever see because I didn’t execute it well, but my initial concept was, I was inspired by Bob Mackie’s clothes, and how we share things, such as new details and threads Those who take the eyes from the shoulders down to the waist. So that was my initial concept, as I was going along.
I think it was Karen from Finance who said “Oh, it looks like the dust of burnt books.” And so that concept took over, and it was one of the hardest parts for me when RU said so. This was the only criticism that was not really good.
Some other costumes, such as maxi [Shields] For example, her attire was amazing in what she made, but she used the bags that Divina the Campa made trousers for in UK season one, I believe. And electra [Shock] Used skins that were used before, you have balls where they have been used before. So to say that the thing that has put me down does not sound very good.
What did you take away from your time Pull the race downThe
God, I think it gave me a wave of confidence. I love comedy and making people laugh, and it gave me the kind of assurance I needed.
And also, in a weird way, it was interesting to see me out of drag, on camera, because I had never seen myself out of drag before. So it was really like being mature, “Oh! That’s who I am!” And I’m totally cool with it. It was great to accept myself and feel that I have the skills and I am able to celebrate it.
What’s coming next for Anita Viglit?
By the way i have a female show named Anita Vigelit: The Life of a Funny Girl, Which would be like an hour-long comedy show about my life and the fun things I do. I will debut in Auckland in June, and then I will take it to Wellington and Christchurch, hopefully to New Zealand, and then to Melbourne in Australia. So it’s coming!
Hopefully there is a tour in the pipeline somewhere. We have talked about the UK tour at this time. And hopefully, I would love to do this kind of work Work the world And all those kinds of things. Also, I’m just about to say yes to everything, and take every opportunity I can get.
Pull the race down Aired on Saturdays on TVNZ in New Zealand, Stan in Australia, BBC Three in the UK, and WOWPresents Plus in the US and other select regions.
