To celebrate Chromebook’s 10th birthday, Google has announced that Chrome OS is getting a massive redesign. Here are all the new Chromebook features
The updated Chrome OS 89 operating system is running for Chromebook owners today and features an all-new phone hub, integration with Near Share and expanded features such as desk and screen capture. The features are sure to enhance the best Chromebook around.
Google is coming up with a shortcut for Android phone owners. Users will be able to respond to incoming texts, controlling some key features of the phone, including turning on the mobile hotspot.
Part of the pass
Google is bringing Android’s AirDrop-like close sharing to Chrome OS, enabling Chromebook owners to send and receive files without the need for contact details or an Internet connection.
Wi-Fi sync technology brings the much-needed ability to automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network used by your other Google-based devices. You will not need to enter a password until you log in with the same Google account. This is great if you are getting a new machine.
Screen capture upgrade
Google is making it easy to take screen captures and recordings. Instead of memorizing keyboard shortcuts, options are now available within the Quick Settings panel. The company is also avoiding totes – “a brand new space that keeps important files right at your fingertips. Open Tot from your shelf and you will see all your recent downloads, recent screen captures and pinned files. “
No need to worry about some things you’ve copied over a few clicks, Chrome OS now shows the last five items you’ve copied, meaning that switching to Windows will be no less necessary.
Here is another new feature Quick Answer provides a series of tools, when you right click on an item or piece of text. Here you will see options to translate, define or change the item.
The enhancement is coming with Google stating that “Now when you reboot, all your windows will return to their previous desk so that your workflow is not interrupted.” There is also an option to right click on the window to send it to a different desk.
Choose improve speech
Google’s built-in screenriders will have new controls that will speed, slow and pause the sound of the reading. It is easy to move to new sections of the lesson.
Chrome OS is now enhancing some existing features, Google says, making it easier to share content within apps. “When you click” Share “on a supported app or website, you’ll see a list of apps that you can share content with directly.”
