Apple is reportedly working on its first smart display, which can combine an iPad and the company’s HomePod mini speaker.
A new Bloomberg Report good The well-connected Mark Gurman claims that Apple’s take on the smart display will resemble the Amazon Echo Show 10, which offers a rotating tablet-like display.
According to Gurman’s sources, Apple used the arm of the robot, using either a robot or a handheld room. This would be ideal if you are enjoying a FaceTime call via the built-in camera, or trying to follow a recipe in an app or Safari.
The report states that Apple is still in the early stage of planning the device and it can still be dropped. It will likely rule out a launch in 2021, but it certainly has something to keep an eye on.
Similarly, other major topics reported today, which is a potential Apple TV device also added to the HomePod style speakers. Reportedly the device will also include a camera for video conferencing and “other smart home functions”. The report states that Apple will also provide the ability to create hands-free commands during Siri, making music playback a little easier.
Again, the report says that Apple may decide against launching such a product. Naturally the company has not commented on the speculation.
Recent rumors suggest that a new 4K Apple TV device may be on the way with a focus on gaming. It is unclear whether Apple will launch the Apple TV 6 and the one mentioned in today’s report. Traditionally, the company has played it very safe with the Apple TV range, which is certainly due to the upgrade.
We have been expecting a new model for more than a year, which is yet to materialize. Apple is due to have its annual spring product refresh, where we are expecting new Mac and iPad models, while AirPods and Apple TV may also be refreshed.
