The next generation Apple Watch Series 7 can offer blood sugar monitoring and huge benefits for people suffering from diabetes.
The speculation comes after a company called Rockley Photonics, a British company that makes blood glucose sensors, has revealed that it describes Apple as its biggest customer.
The company also manufactures blood pressure sensors as well as devices that measure blood alcohol levels, which means that more than one thing can happen, which Apple is interested in.

In the filing, Rockley wrote: “Rockley believes that its operating results for the future will depend to a large extent on revenue for some large customers, including Apple Inc., Rockley’s largest customer.”
While it is no guarantee that Apple plans to integrate a Rockley sensor into the next Apple Watch, there has been a lot of speculation related to blood sugar sensors in recent years.
The main benefit to patients will be the ability to measure their blood sugar without the need for needles. The company’s smartphone and Apple Watch models already support multiple apps for mobile glucose monitors.
Considering that the Apple Watch is becoming more and more healthcare device as well as a smartphone companion, this would seem like the next logical step. The company has already added ECG, high / low heart rate notifications and irregular rhythm notifications. There is also a blood oxygen monitor, as well as speed and sleep trackers all used to estimate our overall well-being.
