Ubisoft has confirmed that the open world FPS Far Cry 6, one of the most anticipated games of 2021, will launch on October 7 this year.
The continuation of the first-person shooter franchise was supposed to arrive in February 2021, but like everything else, it has been delayed. Blame Covid.
However, the wait for gamers on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and last-gen consoles will be over within 5 months. There will also be a free upgrade for those who haven’t gotten a new machine yet.
Ubisoft has also released the first gameplay trailer for the game, well ahead of what is expected to arrive at E3 next month.
As we already knew, Far Cry 6 will be set in Cuba (Ubisoft claims it is not making a political issue, via player), in a fictional town called Yuma. The protagonist is called Dani Rojas (not to be confused with the beloved Ted Lasso character), whom gamers can assign a gender to.
As we already knew, your revolutionary character will face resistance from a fascist dictator Anton Castillo – played by Giancarlo Esposito, who played the great baddie Gustavo Fring in Breaking Bad and Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian.
The gameplay reveal stream can be watched below. There is a total of 22 minutes of footage.
Such is the openness of the world created by Ubisoft, during the reveal we also learned that missions can be played in any order.
During the game you will be able to ride horses and command crocodiles while watching the trailer. Overall this looks like a seriously fun ride we can’t wait to jump on. However, as important as all this is, can we talk about the pauper? How about this puppy, you guys? seriously. Look at his wheels!
We expect to learn more about Far Cry 6 at E3 Expo, which is less than three weeks away. We will have complete coverage of the event.
