Along with OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, the company also announced the OnePlus 9R, but it will only be available in India. Are we missing Europeans? Not much, given the spec sheet.
Essentially, the India-exclusive OnePlus 9R is a 2020 OnePlus 8T equipped with the new Snapdragon 870 5G processor, compared to last year’s Snapdragon 865 processor. This is a significant power jump for what is billed as a mid-range phone. The new chip is also cooled by a vapor chamber.
As indicated last week, OnePlus is focusing heavily on gaming that has a 120Hz refresh rate within a 6.55-inch AMOLL display. 1080p resolution and HDR10 + technology. The display is flat and coated by Gorilla Glass 5.
Like the camera, OnePlus has also taken back the new tech handset with last year’s Camera Specs. There is a 48-megapixel main sensor with OIS. Buyers in India will also benefit from the 16-megapixel ultra wide camera, 5-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel monochrome camera. 4K video at 60fps is also available.
While there is no wireless charging on board, just like the 8T, there is some seriously fast 65W Warp charge available for a battery of Rs 4,500. While reviewing the OnePlus 8T, we found that a 15-minute blast gave us enough juice for the entire day.
The device will be available in India next month for a price of $ 40,000, which is around $ 550 / £ 400, but that’s not really our concern. The configuration consists of up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. This phone will be available in Lake Blue and Carbon Black.
With the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, the company used the event to reveal its first smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch. It promises WearOS and longer battery life than many Android watches have used for us. Thankfully it will be in the UK.
