Apple announced a new color for the iPhone 12 at its Spring Loaded event and just before its release I had a chance to get my hands on the new color.
I am a big fan of Apple’s re-production of colorful products over the years. I love the shades of the iPad Air 4, I can’t wait to see what the two-tone iMac M1 looks like on my desk and the iPhone 12 colors are the best Apple has produced over the years.
Now Apple is adding a seventh option for those looking at the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Mini, which I can comfortably say are two of the best phones.
The purple used here is not quite as luscious and saturated as it seemed in the short video announcing the color, although it is darker than the purple apple used for the iPhone 11. As with the other iPhone 12 colors, the rear phone is slightly more pastel, taking on a darker tone.
You can see more colors in the pictures below:
Colors aside, the iPhone 12 here is exactly the same as the one we reviewed in late 2020. It features a pair of A14 bionic chipsets, an excellent camera, and a stunning new design. Apple has also reintroduced its MagSafe technology with this round of iPhones, allowing you to charge it with a magnetically charged tuck.
The contents of the box are also the same. You get a USB-C with the phone, Lightning cable, Apple sticker (purple, not sadly) and general paperwork. No chargers or EarPods can be seen.
